GCSE Geography is designed to be a relevant and interesting course that covers key
issues facing the world today. The curriculum coverage includes both local and global
studies. This exciting course is based on a balanced framework of physical and human
geography. It allows students to investigate the link between the two themes, and
approach and examine the battles between the man-made and natural worlds.

What will you study?

  • Paper 1 - Living with the physical environment (35%)
  • Paper 2 - Challenges in the human environment (35%)
  • Paper 3 - The challenge of resource management (30%)

Who might enjoy this course?

Basically, anyone interested in the world around them, who has an enquiring mind and
is keen to develop investigative skills and anyone who wants to tackle an academic
subject with plenty of practical elements. Students who complete the course will have
the skills and experience to progress onto A Level and beyond. This subject will not
only teach you about the Earth, it’s natural processes and the opportunities and
challenges faced by humans, it will also teach you real world applications and get you
out of the classroom to experience some hands-on fieldwork.
